The image depicts committee members and their wives from the Omdurman branch of the Lions Club International, a charitable organisation set up in Omdurman, Sudan in the early 1930s. Victor Giries Kattan is pictured stood at the back, third in from the right. His wife Marguerite Kattan (nee Mattia Kattan) is sat in the front row second in from the left. Judge Michel Cotran, sat fourth in from the right, was a close family friend of the Kattans. Cotran was a Palestinian judge residing in Sudan who served as a District Court Judge.
