The photograph is a portrait of Victor Giries Kattan's daughter Jeanette Kattan on her wedding day to her first husband George Kassabian in Khartoum. Her dress was made by Norman Hartnell who was dressmaker to Queen Elizabeth II. This occasion was regarded as a high society wedding with 500-600 guests attending the event at the Grand Hotel by the river Nile Khartoum. This image exists as part of the Kattan Family collection within the William Kattan project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.</p>
