This item is a digital reproduction of four photographs held in the Casa Museo Schafik Hándal in San Salvador, El Salvador. The photographs show Schafik attending and speaking at a gathering in Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, around 1980. The gathering was held by the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), a group with whom Schafik held close relations. The handwritten Arabic sign under the Palestinian flag reads “A qualitative shift to build a new type of party”. Schafik carried out various visits to the Middle East during this period to foster ties of solidarity and procure arms for the revolutionary war in El Salvador.
Este artículo es una reproducción digital de cuatro fotografías conservadas en la Casa Museo Schafik Hándal en San Salvador, El Salvador. Las fotografías muestran a Schafik asistiendo y hablando en una reunión en un campo de refugiados palestinos en Líbano, alrededor de 1980. La reunión fue organizada por el Frente Democrático para la Liberación de Palestina (FDLP), un grupo con el que Schafik mantenía estrechas relaciones.
