This is a digital reproduction of a portable icon depicting Saint John the Baptist, held in St. George Church which is under St. Nicholas Church, Beit Jala, a short distance from Bethlehem. The icon is painted in the Jerusalem Style of the 19th and early 20th century and is located at the church iconostasis, 2nd icon on the right side of the main entrance (royal/altar) door. The size is 26 X 33 cm. The Arabic inscription reads: "John the Baptist".
