This is a digital reproduction of a portable icon depicting Saint Sabbas, held in St. Nicholas Church, Beit Jala, a short distance from Bethlehem. The icon is painted in the Jerusalem Style of the late 19th and early 20th century and is located at the church iconostasis, 5th and last icon on the left side of the main entrance (royal/altar) door. The size is 27 X 36 cm. The Arabic inscription reads: "Saint Sabbas the Hermit" and "gift by Salem Abu al-Sabal and his brothers and their sons 1929".
