This is a digital reproduction of a portable icon depicting the Mother of God, held in St. Nicholas Church, Beit Jala, a short distance from Bethlehem. The icon is painted in the Jerusalem Style of the late 19th and early 20th century and is located at the church iconostasis, 1st icon to the left side of the main entrance (royal/altar) door. The size is 27 X 36 cm. The Arabic inscription reads: "Mother of God", "Jesus Christ" and "gift by Salem Abu al-Sabal and his brothers and their sons 1929".
