Description
This is a digital reproduction of an icon depicting Saint Jacob, held in St. Nicholas Church, Beit Jala, a short distance from Bethlehem. The icon is painted in the Jerusalem Style of the late 19th and early 20th century and is located at the church iconostasis, 5th and last icon on the right side of the main entrance (royal/altar) door. The size is 128 X 60 cm. The Arabic inscription reads: "Saint Jacob, the brother of the Lord in body, the first bishop of Jerusalem", and "gift by Yacoub and Jiries Shahwan and their children."
