This is a digital reproduction of an icon depicting Saint Jacob, held in St. Nicholas Church, Beit Jala, a short distance from Bethlehem. The icon is painted in the Jerusalem Style of the late 19th and early 20th century and is located at the church iconostasis, 2nd icon to the right side of the main entrance (royal/altar) door. The size is 128 X 60 cm. The Arabic inscription reads: "Saint John the Baptist", "Endowment of Shehadeh Ibrahim and his brothers 1929", and at the scroll which St. John is holding there is an extract from Isaiah 40:3.
