Description
-
This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress. This image is a reconstruction of the nativity scene within a Bethlehem home. A local man and woman have been asked to play the roles of Mary and Joseph. The woman breastfeeds her infant as baby Jesus. Animals complete the nativity scene as does the traditional peasant attire of the people. The image is a cropped version of the original. This image exists as part of the Nativity Scenes collection within the Library of Congress project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
