Zakharia Abu Aita and Jamila Abu Aita (husband and wife, from Beit Sahour) are interviewed by Nisreen Barham. Interview
focuses on the great snow of 1920 and the earthquake of 1927; describes
how heavy the snowfall was and people could not move around; had to
burn wood to keep warm; used to work together to shift the snow out of
people's doorways; children used to walk on the ice and have races as
well as collection small pieces of wood to burn; people barely had
enough food to eat as the snow lasted 40 days; some houses were ruined
as were the crops; the earthquake destroyed some houses; describes what
