POOR QUALITY AUDIO. Jabra Ghabar (from Beit Jala) is interviewed by Victoria Abkrian - 1995. Discusses
life during the Ottoman period, World War I and the British Mandate;
talks about the great snow of 1920; discusses the earthquake of 1927 and
how it destroyed people's houses; 4 people from Beit Jala died in the
earthquake as well as some people in Bethlehem; living conditions were
very hard, people lived off their land. Original audio recording: cassette tape. Transcript: word for word. In the original collection at Bethlehem University this cassette tape was categorised as File 18 of Box 19. This
fileset exists as part of the 1920 Great Snow & 1927 Earthquake
collection within the Bethlehem University Oral History project of the
Planet Bethlehem Archive.
