This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress. This image depicts a man watering his garden with the water from the open Wadi Biyar aqueduct. Soloman's Pools are three large water reservoirs located outside of Bethlehem on the road to Hebron, which date back to the 2nd century BC. They were part of a complex ancient water system that comprised acqueducts and springs. This photo was taken by the American Colony Photo Department in Jerusalem.
