This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress. This image depicts a man in traditional dress stood by one of the ancient acqueducts connected to Soloman's Pools. Soloman's Pools are three large water reservoirs located outside of Bethlehem on the road to Hebron, which date back to the 2nd century BC. They were part of a complex ancient water system that comprised acqueducts and springs.
