This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress. This image depicts a man looking at one of the ancient acqueducts connected to Soloman's Pools. Soloman's Pools are three large water reservoirs located outside of Bethlehem on the road to Hebron, which date back to the 2nd century BC. They were part of a complex ancient water system that comprised acqueducts and springs. This photo was taken by the Matson Photo Service which replaced the American Colony Photo Department in Jerusalem.
