This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress. This image depicts an aerial view of the city of Jericho and the surrounding mountainous landscape. Jerico is located near the Jordan River in the West Bank and has a largely Muslim population. The town maintains a status of historical importance due to the unearthing of various settlements which date back 11,000 years. The image is part of a collection that was gifted to the Library of Congress by the board of directors of the American Colony of Jerusalem.
