Description
-
This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress. These images depict Eric Matson’s diary entries from 1924. Eric Matson was one of the leading photographers of the American Colony in Jerusalem who moved to Colony as a young child with his family from Sweden. His 1924 diary contains detailed daily entries until late April. These include descriptions of the 'extraordinary' snowfall that occurred in April in the Jerusalem/Bethlehem area. The diary becomes more sporadic after April. A trip to Paris in July is described in detail before a gap until several entries at the end of December.
