This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress. This image depicts men, women, children and animals at a scene where the workers are threshing and winnowing their crops. This image is part of a photo series produced by the American Colony Photo Department in Jerusalem or its successor, the Matson Photo Service of their re-enactment of the Book of Ruth. The series is set in the Bethlehem area and includes local farmers who were actually harvesting, threshing and winnowing their crops at the time.
