Title
George Harb with friends and family at a dance in Jerusalem, 1958
Description
This series of photograph show George Harb with friends and family at a dance in Jerusalem. The first photograph shows George Harb dancing with his cousin Mary (daughter of his paternal uncle). The second shows George Harb posing with friends. The third photograph shows George Harb with Therese Giacaman (his sister, who married Elias Giacaman). The photographs display popular 1950's fashion styles. Women's fashion was typically defined by narrow and soft shoulders, a close fitting bodice which would pull in the natural waist or slightly higher and a very full skirt or tight sheath skirt. Men wore suits that dropped straight to the hip hitting around mid-thigh. Most suits were single-breasted with long, wide lapels, and fastened up the front with two or three buttons sitting low, exposing a long necktie.
