He discusses the following: way of life and standard of living in the Ottoman period; people lived off the land; relations between Ottomans and Arabs were good; Ottomans were not interested in producing birth certificates; Ottoman regime used to give people a 10 year supply of rice and sugar; social status and healthcare; locust plague of 1915 and the drought in 1916; military conscription during World War I; collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
