He discusses the following: public life during World War I, including how people used to grow their own food; lack of awareness of war when it first broke out; German leaders blamed Ottoman leadership; Ottoman leadership blamed the Arabs; conflict between Ottomans and Arabs but lack of action on the part of the Arab army; Sherif Hussein of Mecca and his betrayal of the Arabs after striking deal with the British.
