Description
-
This image is a digital reproduction of a printed bank note donated by Kathy Sa'ade Kenny. This photograph displays one of the bank notes owned by Jamil Afana procured from his amber mining business in Russia. During the Russian revolution the Afana family fled to Bethlehem and tried to take their money with them in suitcases. Much of the money was lost but some family members held onto a few notes. Sue Abularach Powell has contributed these images to the Katrina Sa'ade project, and is the cousin of the donor Kathy Sa'ade Kenny.
