Title: Missions in the Americas
Description: This collection consists of photographs documenting visits made by Palestinian-Salvadoran revolutionary leader Schafik Hándal to various countries in the Americas, spanning the period from 1960 until 2006, the year of his death. The photographs show Hándal meeting with various political leaders in Latin America, as well as at FMLN social gatherings in the USA and elsewhere. The collection includes photographs of the trip Hándal made to Bolivia in 2006 for the inauguration of president Evo Morales. Hándal died from a heart attack at the airport in El Salvador upon returning from this trip.

These digital copies of the photographs have been donated to the Planet Bethlehem Archive by the Instituto Schafik Hándal in San Salvador, El Salvador. Descriptions of the images are provided in both English and Spanish.
